Young construction worker fatally injured on major development
It has been reported by the Maidenhead Advertiser that a young construction worker has been fatally injured on an office and hotel development being built by McAleer & Rushe in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
The Air Ambulance received a call at 12.09pm on 13 May to attend reports of a man in a serious condition folllowing an accident on site. An ambulance officer and crew, two rapid response units and a Thames Valley and Chiltern air ambulance attended and workman from Wiltshire was confirmed dead at the scene.
Thames Valley Police were called and West Street was closed before being reopened to the public hours later. HSE has been notified.
A McAleer & Rushe spokesman said workers on the project were ”devastated by the tragic incident”. He said it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage while investigations were ongoing and the deceased’s relatives were being informed.
