What is Driver CPC

Driver CPC stands for ‘Driver Certificate of Professional Competence’. It is a qualification that all bus, coach and lorry drivers will need to have, and is, or has been introduced across the European Union to maintain high driving standards. It was introduced in 2008 for Coach Driver & in 2009 for HGV/LGV Driver. At the time of launch, drivers were given 5 years to complete 35 hours (5 days) of CPC Training, it’s basically there to up skill drivers & keep them up to date with current legislation. The deadline for Coach Drivers passed on September 10th 2013, while HGV / LGV Drivers must have completed their 35 hours by September 10th 2014. Drivers not completing the 35 hours by this deadline will be driving ILLEGALLY.
